Support Outside The Borders During the #ONEDAY Critical Needs Alert
Tuesday, August 4, 2026
Outside The Borders is proud to participate in the #ONEDAY Critical Needs Alert, a special online day of giving organized by The Pittsburgh Foundation and the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County.
This annual fundraising event supports nonprofit organizations that provide critical services and meet essential human needs throughout Allegheny and Westmoreland counties. Donations can be made online at www.pittsburghgives.org from 8:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on August 4, 2026.
Since 2013, the Critical Needs Alert campaigns have raised more than $17 million to strengthen communities and support organizations serving vulnerable populations. In addition, The Pittsburgh Foundation has committed $500,000 in incentive funds for Allegheny County nonprofits, while the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County has committed $50,000 in incentive funds for organizations serving Westmoreland County.
Why Support Outside The Borders?
Outside The Borders is the only nonprofit organization in the Pittsburgh region founded by a Hispanic woman specifically to address the cultural and linguistic barriers that prevent many Latino and Hispanic individuals from accessing mental health, domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking support services.
For many members of our community, language is more than a communication challenge—it is often the difference between receiving help and suffering in silence. Through culturally responsive services, educational workshops, support groups, referrals, and community outreach, Outside The Borders helps individuals and families access the resources they need in a language and environment they trust.

- Provide education and prevention programs for domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
- Connect individuals and families with critical community resources.
- Reduce stigma surrounding mental health in Latino and Hispanic communities.
- Strengthen community outreach and support services for vulnerable populations.
