A Collaborative Initiative Supported by The Heinz Endowments
We are honored to share that The Heinz Endowments has awarded a$150,000 grant to MAYA Organization to support the implementation of the Madres sin Fronteras (MSF) program—an innovative, collaborative effort designed to expand access to culturally and linguistically responsive services for Spanish-speaking mothers and pregnant individuals in Allegheny County and surrounding communities.

Within this collaborative framework, Outside The Borders Inc. plays a critical role in advancing the program’s mental health and community engagement goals through:
Psychoeducational Leadership
Delivering culturally responsive, Spanish-language virtual workshops focused on:
- Emotional regulation
- Trauma-informed awareness
- Domestic violence and relational dynamics
- Coping strategies for stress, migration-related challenges, and maternal well-being
Community-Based Engagement
Facilitating structured group spaces that:
- Reduce isolation among participants
- Promote peer connection and emotional safety
- Strengthen trust in community-based support systems
Cross-Organizational Coordination
Actively supporting:
- Warm referrals between partner organizations
- Participant navigation across multiple services
- Ongoing communication to ensure continuity of care
Alignment with Funded Outputs & Outcomes
The work of Outside The Borders Inc. directly contributes to the achievement of the program’s approved outcomes:
- Supporting the delivery of culturally congruent mental health services to at least 150 Spanish-speaking mothers and pregnant individuals
